The more people that voice their opinions on this, the more likely they are to release the ban. The people are not asking for them to take away flavored cigarettes and tobacco products. Why does it matter what we choose to put into our bodies? They aren’t banning flavored alcohol, or flavored sodas, so why are tobacco products any different? Tobacco is and has been a legal product for years. Banning one type is going to bring an uproar in all communities. Ban them all or don’t ban any. People who smoke know the risks they take every time they light a cigarette. Why not let people continue to make their choices. If someone doesn’t want a menthol cigarette, then no one is forcing them to smoke it. Smokers know the risks, and yet take them anyways. Why is banning menthol going to change that? What happened to freedom? This isn’t about public health but we can pretend it is if it makes it easier to systematically dismantle the tobacco industry but know this. This isn’t were this all stops.The more politics creep into our personal lives the more freedoms we’ve once enjoyed are taken away.Now it’s menthol, what is it tomorrow? The day after? If I were in the alcohol industry then it would be of great importance to team up with tobacco because it will only be a matter of time before it’s the next public health crisis because the machine doesn’t stop. The government doesn’t care about our health, only governing our choices and our bodies.
