Many scientists say that we must take bold action as soon as possible to combat climate change, or risk facing irreversible damages to our planet! We must act now and ask Joe Biden, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the U.S. Senate to pass the Green New Deal.

Key elements of the Green New Deal:

-Investing in renewable power sources

-Investing in clean energy

-Investing in transportation systems, namely zero-emission vehicles, public transit, and a high-speed rail system

-Identifying sources of pollution and emissions and reducing them

-Working with the international community on solutions and helping them achieve Green New Deals in their respective countries

Goal of the Green New Deal:

-To bring U.S. greenhouse gas emissions down to net-zero and meet 100% of power demand in the country through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources as soon as possible

 

Greenhouse gasses are gasses in the Earth's atmosphere that trap heat. They let sunlight pass through the atmosphere, but they prevent the heat that the sunlight brings from leaving the atmosphere. The most common greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide

Clean energy is energy that comes from sources that do not pollute the atmosphere when used.

Renewable energy is energy from a source that is not depleted when used, such as wind or solar power. 

 

We must take action now to protect ourselves and future generations for years to come!
