Collingwood Beach Dune Vegetation still at risk

Unfortunately the issue of vandalism of dune vegetation at Collingwood Beach has not gone away. 2 recent developments are:
1. A Notice of Motion - Collingwood Beach - Vegetation Maintenance Submitted by: Clr Bob Proudfoot: Recommending removal of dead vegetation (i.e. the vegetation that has been poisoned), and removing the majority of the tree destruction signs- in advance of the planned workshops to consider public submissions on the Collingwood Beach Dune Vegetation Management Plan (over 75% against). This is due to be considered imminently. Contact Councillors urgently if you are concerned: AllCouncillors@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au
2. Draft Shoalhaven Coastal Hazard Review where Council has lowered in sea level rise projections to 35 cm by 2100 (compared to over 90 cm in all other south coast council areas). What this means for Collingwood beach, is that the " Immediate Zone of Reduced Foundation Capacity" will move seaward and the shared pathway and dune at Collingwood Beach will be landward of it - thus potentially re-opening the Collingwood Beach dune vegetation lopping issue. If you are as concerned as I am, please make submission "Revised Coastal Hazard Review" on exhibition until 3 February (see http://doc.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/displaydoc.aspx…)
