Review Student Finance arrangements and tuition fees

Review Student Finance arrangements and tuition fees
The Issue
City Council representatives of Lancaster University students are writing to the Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation, Jo Johnson, asking for two separate reviews. One of the current financial arrangements that exist between the Government and higher education students for funding student living costs, and another to a review the fairness of tuition fees.
Maintenance loans provided by Student Finance England are considered inadequate for sufficiently funding living costs by many students at Lancaster University, especially those signing this petition.
Moreover, those signing this petition also agree that their course's tuition fees are overly expensive when evaluating the facilities, equipment, tutor-to-student exposure time and similar resources that are available for students' use at their time at university.
Thus, those signing this petition support University and Scotforth Rural ward Councillors at Lancaster City Council in calling for the Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation to launch a review into the adequacy of Student Finance available for all students participating in higher education, as well as a review of the fairness and value of tuition fees that students have to pay.
