James Madison University (JMU) has invited Robert Spencer, a notorious anti-Muslim extremist, to speak on campus. Spencer is known for spreading Islamophobic rhetoric, promoting misinformation, and fueling hatred against Muslim communities. His presence directly threatens the well-being of Muslim students and contradicts JMU’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

We, the undersigned, call on JMU to:

1. Reconsider allowing Robert Spencer to speak on campus.

2. Publicly acknowledge the harm caused by his rhetoric and commit to protecting marginalized students.

3. Ensure that future speakers align with JMU’s values of inclusivity, respect, and intellectual integrity.
