As we all know, COVID-19 is permeating globally, and because of this, some universities nationwide have made executive decisions to cancel their Class of 2020 Graduations, some of which include "Brigham Young University, Grinnell College, West Texas A&M, Grambling State and the Savannah College of Art and Design" (https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2020-03-13/some-us-colleges-cancel-postpone-graduation-over-virus).

On behalf of the James Madison University Class of 2020, please do not cancel our graduation. We have worked tirelessly towards commencement, and commencement is what we deserve to cap off our beautiful and unforgettable experiences at JMU. Not only that, but also, JMU families, friends, faculty, staff, employees, alumni, donors, etc., have poured their hearts and souls into us and this university, so the least we could do to thank them is to give them our commencement ceremonies. It would be a disservice to the JMU community at large if graduation was canceled.

We understand the gravity of this outbreak, so please reschedule if necessary and appropriate. We just ask humbly to not cancel it altogether. Thank you in advance! Go Dukes!
