Folks,

Today marks 10 days that this petition been running and this is the first update. 
To begin, I would like to thank Delia Roland for their contribution to Change.org to increase the promotion of this petition and the signatures raised because of it.
I'd also like to thank everyone who has signed this petition and shared it with others. However, we need many more signatures and sharing, to keep this going. 
I’d also like to share some of the things I have done to advance both points of the petition so far. 
I have spoken with one of the Alabama State Representatives for Mobile County, to see if they can help with getting legislative support for the JB themed license plate. They are very enthusiastic about the idea and are exploring within the state legislature for support from other members. 
Additionally, I have approached the mayor and city council of Spanish Fort about the possibility of renaming all or part of the Battleship Parkway, the causeway which runs between Spanish Fort and downtown Mobile, to the Jimmy Buffett Parkway (…right up on over Spanish Fort into Mobile, my hometown…). 
I will update this group as new information becomes available.
