Immediate Resignation of Aurora Animal Service's Manager Jenee Shipman

Immediate Resignation of Aurora Animal Service's Manager Jenee Shipman
The Issue
Mr. Jim Twombly,
I am reaching out to you to respectfully request the resignation of Jenee Shipman, Manager of Aurora Animal Services. There has been many cases of suspected abuse, cruelty, neglect, mistreatment and wrongful deaths of animals, harassment, racism and hostile work environment under Shipmans care. Complaints have been filed by community members to investigate these allegations and all efforts have gone unheard.
The community is calling for justice to be immediately served for Blu! Blu and his family are victims of Shipman's unethical and illegal practices. AAS has watched how many animals under their care become more and more aggressive every minute being there. These same animals have been refused rehabilitation services and were consequently euthanized.
As the City Manager of Aurora, Co I call on to you to do the right thing at this time and immediately have Shipman removed from her position as Manager of Aurora Animal Services.

*In addition to care provided by Aurora Animal Services, There are a number of low-cost veterinary clinics in the area, as well as national, state and local organizations focused on assisting with the costs of veterinary care. There is also a wealth of resources available regarding assistance with behavioral issues.*
“Ferrin, too, said the most likely fate for the dog is death, and that the animal has exhibited aggressive behavior since being transferred to a local pound. Biscuit is currently in the custody of Aurora Animal Care.” At the hearing Tuesday, Rowles-Stokes said “this is the first case of cruelty she’s seen in which the animal will likely die.”
Thank you, Tara S. Bostick
