On behalf of concerned citizens within the Rhode Island community It has come to our attention that a local venue Manchester 65 is hosting a gang affiliated artist "Chief Keef" on Wednesday 10/28/2015.

If you are unfamiliar with rapper Chief Keef, he's a violent street gang member from Chicago, one of the most violent cities in the United States, where gangs boast about the amount of murders that take place in their city on a daily basis.

Chief Keef celebrates gun violence, drug selling, gang affiliation, assault & murder.

With the amount of gun violence, rampant gangs and drug abuse that is plaguing our country we are ashamed that the town of Warwick would be complacent in hosting such an individual and all that he represents in his music/message.

Chief Keef is popular among minorities in the urban community who are susceptible and vulnerable to such a message.

In addition to his overall message and following we are concerned as citizens, especially parents, that allowing him to perform in our great state will only further exacerbate the potential for violence not only at the venue the night of his scheduled performance, but consider the residual affect of you condoning his message in the minds of our youth.

We do not wish to prevent local businesses from being successful in their quest to provide entertainment in the State of Rhode Island, but to host such an event in these trying times is unconscionable.

We are hopeful that the town of Warwick will reconsider going forward with this scheduled event on 10/28/2015 - on behalf of the safety of the citizens of Warwick, event attendees and the Rhode Island community as a whole.

Please ban Chicago rapper Chief Keef from performing in Rhode Island as long as he continues to promote gangs, gun violence and drug selling.
