Mr. Andrews, was trained to be an essential worker during the pandemic, and has played a critical role in keeping the general population inside of the prison safe. While the commonwealth will be arguing for a longer sentence, the core of their argument will be a narrative of the poor decisions Mr. Andrews has made in the past. It should be pointed out that Kevin's past poor decisions were largely influenced by his struggle with - and an addiction to - opioids (pain killers), which resulted from a severe injury sustained in a car accident many years ago. We realize that opioid addiction is an American epidemic, and that people who are struggling need treatment - NOT prison. Today, our focus is the outstanding decisions Mr. Andrews has made during the past seven years. Kevin has turned his life around, and it hasn't taken 66 years to do so. Kevin has demonstrated that he has developed the tools necessary to live a productive life. We're calling for the court to do the right thing and grant Mr. Andrews a time served sentence. We cannot accomplish this without your help. Kevin has a strong support system, including both parents, a brother, 4 sisters, and his community, where he is a beloved member. He's also the father of two beautiful girls ages 8 and 15. Upon his release, he has several employment opportunities available. During his incarceration, he has conquered his addiction, acquired education, and made the changes required of him to be a part of the solution and not the problem. We urge you to support Mr Andrews and his fight for justice. Please sign this petition. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
