It’s been 3 years since I began a petition on change.org to seek the end of Jetstar's outrageous Credit Card Surcharges, and those charged by other businesses which have become increasingly common place. The charges vary considerably from 1.5% to over 200% charged by Jetstar and others. Today, Parliament passed new laws to end “Excessive Credit Card Surcharges”. This is excellent news and a direct result of our efforts! There is no denying this Change.org petition has had a massive impact! But you know what, Credit Card Surcharges are bad for consumers in any form. They are all a rort and should simply be banned completely. Soon, you will be able to complain to the ACCC regarding Surcharges that you think are “excessive”. I can see the poor ACCC getting hammered with thousands of complaints. And who pays for processing this? We do, the tax payer. So I wonder if Jetstar will now comply?
