Today is my final update, and I write it with the deepest gratitude. Although the petition will be declared a victory, this is not the final chapter.

Jess’s legacy will continue in the form of her charity, The Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust  https://jessicabradycedartrust.org.uk/ – Please do follow us on X, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky or LinkedIn.

It is our mission to support earlier diagnosis of cancer by improving awareness among medical professionals, in GP surgeries, through training and research. We will ensure that Jess’s Rule is fully actioned and remembered. Our next goal is to fund the printing and distribution of Jess’s Rule posters to all GP surgeries in England, to be displayed in consulting rooms.

I feel the next section should be dedicated to acknowledging the hard work of countless eminent medical professionals, civil servants and Members of Parliament who have listened to your collective voice and acted. Their combined efforts have been both immense and humbling. I will not list them here, but I have thanked them personally.

This petition has been part of my everyday life for nearly five years – supported by Simon, Jess’s dad, who was by my side, metaphorically and often physically.

In the early days, I was driven by a desire to share the petition – to get the word out there. I know many people must have felt bombarded, so thank you for your tolerance and understanding.

Key moments include:

All of you – sharing, signing, supporting.

Delivering the petition to Number 10.

The support of the Secretaries of State for Health and meetings with Matt Hancock, Steve Barclay and Wes Streeting.

An Adjournment Debate and a Westminster Debate for Jess’s Rule and cancer diagnosis in young adults, in the House of Commons.

Giving oral evidence to the Health & Social Care Committee.

A roundtable of experts chaired by the Chief Medical Officer, Chris Whitty

Jess's Rule is the petition with the most signatures to achieve a victory on Change.org in the UK this year. It is also the biggest healthcare petition in the UK since the pandemic.

Launch of Jess’s Rule, 23rd September 2025.

Jess’s integrity, quiet determination, consideration and kindness inspired this campaign. She is missed deeply every day – thank you for remembering.
