With your continued support, Jess's Law - legislation calling for a patient’s case to be elevated for review after the third contact with their GP surgery about a condition or symptom – should now be something every GP in the country hears about.
Working in conjunction with The Royal College of GPs, Jess’s charity, Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust, has part funded a new training module, Early diagnosis of cancer in young adults
Based on Jess’s tragic case, this module explores the epidemiology of cancer in young adults, risk factors and the clinical aspects of a timely diagnosis. It references Jess’s Law and the principle of ‘Three strikes and we rethink’ on multiple occasions.
The e-learning course, is freely available to GPs and other healthcare professionals registered with the RCGP’s learning platform.
Of course, the launch of the training course comes with mixed feelings for us. Deep sadness that we are here, without Jess, but also gratitude that the change Jess so hoped for is beginning to happen.
Please share the training where you can, with your GP surgeries or friends and relatives in the medical profession.
Thank you so much for your continued support. You are the change Jess hoped for.
