As a nation, in the last few weeks grief has been at the forefront of our minds. The public has collectively mourned the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth. Floral tributes, messages of condolence and, of course, a funeral. My heart goes out to all those who feel the loss so keenly. It is also a stark reminder of the terrible day we had to say goodbye to Jess. A bitterly cold January afternoon in the height of Covid restrictions. Just 30 mourners, the majority under the age of 30, forced to sit 2 meters apart. This was a day none of us had ever anticipated. A day that felt surreal and will haunt me forever.

This petition is now addressed to the fourth Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Thérèse Coffey. We will continue to campaign for Jess. What happened to her should not be forgotten and should never be repeated (although we know it already has). Lessons must be learnt, and changes made.

Thank you for signing and sharing this petition. Please do not underestimate the impact you can make.

Today my deep sadness has left me with fewer words but my resolution to do some good remains strong
