Merry Christmas and A Huge Thank you to Governor Jerry Brown! Governor Brown has reduced Jeremy's sentence from 70 years to 8 year. God is great. Thank you Jesus and Thank you Governor! The kids and I can not thank each of you enough for signing our petition. We were out eating dinner when we received the call. Everyone in the restaurant could hear us crying. The kids and I were overwhelmed with tears. Our waitress brought us cookies assuming we had just been given some terrible news. Oh how wrong she was. This was a miracle. We just won the "Real Lottery". Jeremy is coming home to be with his children. What a blessing. Yes, God is great. Merry Christmas. I am so grateful my son is coming home and I pray this will open the door for other three strikers. Jeremy is "now" the first three striker to have his sentence commutation granted. Incredible News! I will continue work with We the People Org to help bring fair justice to all the nonviolent offenders punished under California three strikes law. No one should have to serve a life sentence for property theft. This law is wrong and needs to change. I am asking everyone to stand with me to bring all the nonviolent offenders home to their families. Life sentences should be reserved for violent heinous crimes. We need to change our current three strikes law. We the People Org is moving forward to put a new initiative before the voters of California in 2018 to stop allowing nonviolent crimes to be punished under the three strikes law. Practical laws need to be fair, equal and civilized. Let us put the Fair Chance initiative on the ballot in 2018 and put a stop to striking out nonviolent offenses. I pray everyone can experience the joy that I am experiencing today.
