Contacted the National Cyber Security Centre

Raised a query with the National Cyber Security Centre to see if they have an awareness of the potential cyber crime that would become more affluent from 2020 with this change (details in previous update and on link).

I have to say, not overly impressed with the NCSC website around consumer advice, or their blogs. I saw some horrendous advice, for example one around passwords, suggesting 3 random words, to be clear that gives most people a password strength of 45 seconds, that would be how long it would take to crack that password.... 7 years ago. So I am not holding my breath for getting a decent response.

I did have a chat with action fraud team as well, they were not aware of this particular method, but did point me to places I can raise it. They do seem to be a bit more on the ball, and suggested if I don't get anywhere with this that I can raise a report with them (but they are generally there to deal with crime as it happens)
