Restore the Public Trust at Harris-Stowe State University

Restore the Public Trust at Harris-Stowe State University
The Issue
On October 30, 2015, a jury in St. Louis Civil Courts UNANIMOUSLY ruled that the Harris-Stowe State University Board of Regents engaged in racial discrimination toward former employee, Beverly Wilkins. The jury awarded Ms. Wilkins $1.35 million in compensatory damage; $3.5 million in punitive damages.
More recently, on December 3, 2015 a jury again UNANIMOUSLY ruled against the university in for discriminating against Dr. Shereen Abdel Kader on the basis of her national origin (Egyptian). In that case, the jury awarded Dr. Kader $750,000 compensatory damages and $1.75 million punitive damages.
Clearly, the university administration has engaged in a variety of discriminatory practices.
The board has stated that they are considering an appeal, but the success of such a strategy is unlikely in either case. There is also a cover-up underway, designed to downplay the mean-spirited incompetence of some of the key antagonists in the case.
Signatories to this petition demand the following:
1) Immediate resignation or removal of board members Christine Chadwick, Reginald Dickson and Deborah Hollingsworth;
2) immediate resignation or removal of Provost Dwyane Smith, Assistant VP of Academic Affairs Michelle McClure, Director of IT James Fogt and Board Secretary Lea Sutherlin--administrators who actively and knowingly engaged in prejudicial treatment of Ms. Wilkins;
3) The immediate removal of Henry Givens's name from all state property and campus facilities;
4) and Termination of all state contracts with the Mickes, Goldman and O'Toole law firm--the law firm that has enabled waste, corruption and bullying in the workplace for over a decade.
Your voice matters! Help bring the perpetrators of gross discrimination to justice and restore the taxpayer's trust in our public colleges and universities.
