Keep Jellybeans Skate Center Open

Keep Jellybeans Skate Center Open
The Issue
The roller skating rink, Jellybeans Skate Center of Wakefield, may be closing down for good. The building is on schedule to be sold to a church in mid April. This skate center has become a safe place and just a general place to have fun for many people. Regular patrons come in every weekend to skate, have fun, and not have to worry about anything else. Some patrons, and employees, have been going there since they were kids and grew up there learning how to skate. There are not any other roller skating rinks nearby. Not to mention, the 13 employees and the manager will no longer have their job at Jellybeans. The employees and regular patrons have become a family and grown together. The manager, who is the kindest and most understanding woman ever, has always wanted to own her own roller skating rink. She worked hard to get where she is now and reach her goal, and she has put her heart and soul into the business. The skating rink is such a huge benefit for the community and it needs to stay. It has become a second home to so many people. Without it a lot of people will lose their source of income, a source of safe exercise, a safe space, a happy place, and most importantly a family.
