Animals are often rescued and placed in centers for adoption, only to lack the introduction of a new home. Pet stores everywhere are taking advantage of the breeding of animals for desirable traits, and are neglecting to distribute animals that need a home. This bill would mimic the statewide bill recently signed in California, and would prevent the distribution of any dog, cat, or rabbit that was not obtained from a public animal control agency or shelter, society for the prevention of cruelty to animals shelter, humane society shelter, or rescue group. Let us all work together to provide the best situations that we can for all the animals that don't have a place of safety, nourishment, and care.
