The class of 2020 at Gardendale High School has worked hard for 13 years to achieve their high school diploma. Although March 13th was our last day of school unexpectedly due to COVID - 19, we would still like to have a graduation ceremony that is as traditional as possible, and safe.  The class of 2020 at Gardendale High School wants to feel honored just like every other previous class before us. We feel that the decision to have us graduate by ourselves, in an empty auditorium was a rushed decision. The Governor is lifting the 10 person restriction which enables us to graduate together, all 273 of us, at a ceremony where we are appropriately spaced.   We propose this idea:  set up a stage in the end zone of Driver Stadium, have families come and sit on both sides of the football field (family members would sit together and stay separate from other families, tickets could be provided to control capacity), students will sit appropriately spaced throughout the football field, the ceremony would continue like it has in previous years - just a little more special, like us.  #Rocketstrong #classof2020
