Tell Winick Realty Group LLC to stop renting space to the Fur Source of New York
The Issue
The Fur Source of New York, LLC has blood on its hands. It has been targeted since 2011 by animal rights activists. Each year the number of people who take action against them increases. This uncomfortable attention which will intensify next year is unfair to the other tenants who rent at this location. We strongly implore Winick Realty to not get involved with these animal abusers as renting space to them for four months next year will only bring protests, undo attention and aggravation to their other tenants, as well as involving them in something as despicable as animal abuse.
More than 50 million fur bearing animals are violently killed by the fur industry every year. These animals are killed in many gruesome ways-gassing, trapping, anal/vaginal electrocution, drowning, suffocating, poisoning, stomping/bludgeoning to death, starving to death, hanging, poisoning and possible the most cruelest of all being skinned alive.
Some animals aren’t trapped from the wild. 85% of fur comes from fur farms, meaning more than 45 million animals worldwide, including raccoon dogs, rabbits, foxes, mink, and chinchillas, are raised in cages and killed each year for their fur. Animals spend their entire lives confined to tiny, filthy cages, constantly pacing back and forth from stress and boredom. They exhibit stereotypical stress behavior such as self-mutilation and cannibalism, demonstrating that intense confinement drives them insane.
On fur farms you see animals with open and infected wounds; obvious signs of untreated infection; eyes infected or missing; tails bitten off; deformed and damaged legs; overgrowing gum disease resulting in difficulty eating and drinking; babies with legs stuck through the mesh floor of the cage; dilapidated and dangerous caging and facilities; widespread animal suffering and neglect; empty, unclean and broken water bowls.
With so much overwhelming sadistic cruelty involved in the fur trade, we respectful ask that Winick Realty Group not rent their retail space to The Fur Source of New York, LLC. This establishment profits exclusively from the murder and torture of animals. There are millions of other retailers not involved in animal abuse their property could be rented to.
