The Issue

After Shannon Hamilton as a grieving father attempted to make a barricade at the site of his 16 year old daughter's crash, he was arrested by White County deputies for interference with government property. The county has since put up barriers, but the father is still facing criminal charges. He was attempting to save others from the same fate as his daughter Cecily and her friend Taylor Swing, who drowned after they went over the bridge in question on Gene Nix Rd. in Cleveland, Georgia. As a resident of White County, I do not want to see this man punished.

Please take the time to sign this petition so that Mr. Hamilton and his family does not have the added worry of dealing with these charges in the wake of his daughter's death. He was simply trying to make things right by her and by his community. If we can get enough signatures, maybe the county will do the right thing. Thank you.
