One of the most iconic paint schemes in the history of NASCAR is the rainbow DuPont scheme of Jeff Gordon. Jeff drove the rainbow car to victory lane multiple times, and simply dominated during the 1990s. Despite its cheerful demeanor, the rainbow car was feared with Jeff Gordon at the wheel. Even the pit crew for the #24, known as the Rainbow Warriors, were unrivaled. The rainbow paint scheme is synonymous with success. For many people, the rainbow scheme brings back great, happy memories, including the fact that Jeff's one of the best, if not the best driver ever. Unfortunately, Jeff and his team have retired this paint scheme, not using it since the 2004 All-Star Race. Even though DuPont is not the major sponsor of Jeff Gordon anymore (with the selling and rebranding of DuPont Performace Coatings as Axalta), his new sponsors could still bring back the old rainbow paint scheme for old time's sake. It would be great seeing it for even just one more race.
