Take a minute to think of the people in your life and if they have any chronic illnesses, or are they impacted by violence in today's society. A lot of our violence today stems from the buying and selling of recreational pot illegally. If there were dispensaries it would cut out a lot of the crime and violence. Also, marijuana should be legalized due to the number of health benefits that it is proven to have. Many people that suffer with chronic illnesses like multiple sclerosis and mental handicaps such as epilepsy should have the option to use marijuana rather than the normal narcotics that are prescribed. People that suffer from seizures respond better when given marijuana because their body isn’t under stress. Your kidneys have to filter out narcotics thus, they are harder on your body than marijuana is. Marijuana also can help alleviate nausea and increasing appetites among those who suffer from cancer. Legalizing marijuana also can bring in tax money to help the states with education and other pressing issues for the said state. To help legalize marijuana in South Carolina, it will take further action from the lobbyist and lawmakers. They are already taking action, such as when they added it to the democratic ballot in the primary election for Governor. Now to add it to the ballot in the general election and say yes to cannabis.
