Amazon Smile Prime Filter Add

The Issue

According to their website: AmazonSmilePrime is a separate website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and some shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmilePrime, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice. This may not be much $$ per item but if you're an existing customer already purchasing from Amazon anyway, its a nice little touch.

The problem is, it seems to only work on a web browser. Every google result to the search on "how to shop amazon smile products from the amazon app" suggests that you uninstall the Amazon App from your device and bookmark the Amazon Smile page to your browser instead. Sounds easy enough at first but using the mobile app on your mobile device is always going to be more convenient and user friendly than the website itself. Isn't that why they created the mobile app in the first place? Like anyone else might, I want to keep the perks of shopping for, saving and tracking my orders quickly and comfortably in the app from my phone but it would be nice if there was just a filter added that was specifically for product results eligible for AmazonSmilePrime.

A company of Amazon’s technological sophistication should be able to add such filter so that their new and existing customers can really take advantage of this good deed. Plus, some charities might promote AmazonSmile on their sites, giving Amazon more publicity, but then not getting enough people buying products that are actually AmazonSmile eligible to then be able to donate to their cause. In my opinion, It almost feels like Amazon is just benefiting from promoting themselves as do-gooders through this offering but then not being able to give enough because people just forget to use this specific site or just don't want to because its a minor inconvenience that Amazon themselves have not resolved. As one of the nations largest online retailers, one more filter (that people still have to remember to use!) would be really helpful for those of us who want to donate a dollar here and there.

My interest in creating this petition was sparked by a conversation thread I read available on Reddit
