Dear JCPSLouisville, KY, Estados Unidos
11 may 2019

Three years ago yesterday, we presented your signatures on the original petition to the JCPS Board of Education. Our community's efforts were successful in stopping the salary freeze, but we still have a long way to go for the remainder of items on the list.

We also now face state takeover, charter schools, scholarship tax credits, and pension "reform."

Are the organizations you pay dues into doing an adequate job in stopping these measures? For advocating for the things we need? Or have their leaders become "compromised" in order to maintain their positions of power? We have seen some questionable activities coming from some of these organizations, and when you look at their position statements on privatization, and their funding sources at the national levels, it starts to make sense.

Dues paying members deserve to be represented by their organizations!

The most recent of these activities came about during the events leading up to the election of officers for the 15th District PTA. Please check out our latest petition where we are simply asking them to define a more transparent and equitable election process, and to redo the election on May 7, where a dozen different attempts to stifle the voters and candidates resulted in only 104 members deciding who the officers for a 27,000 member organization would be. That is not equitable, transparent or fair!

Watch the story on WLKY here.

Then, please sign our petition. And share. Thank you!
