I am starting this petition to put an end to illegal street racing and sideshows. I’m sure everyone is aware that over the last year street racing has increased drastically, and for those unaware, every weekend they are out closing some intersection, doing donuts, lighting off fire works, and now they’ve become aggressive with the police. This is something that is a sensitive matter to my family and I, we lost my 19 year old sister and one other girl in November due to this recklessness. They’ve shown no remorse, just said “get back or get smacked” or “in the pit get hit” whenever someone is hit because that’s not the only occurrence. The police have had shut down nights where they have pulled over members who have no license, who are uninsured, they don’t care about how many tickets they get, but maybe they will care if you take their car and they have to pay to get it out? I am petitioning to have the police take more serious action and give them stricter consequences. Recently the city of Fife discussed impounding the vehicles of those participating in these events and that is ultimately my goal from this petition, to make that a law state wide, if you’re caught street racing your car is impounded, because I just don’t feel like they are realizing the dangers and reality of what they are doing.
