We need to adequately protect our retailers and high traffic positions. Essential employees like cashiers need better protection from Covid-19. Items like plexiglass sneeze shields, gloves, and hand sanitizer need to be provided by their employers to better prevent the spread of this horrific pandemic. We must demand that lawmakers introduce laws that better protect these vital yet vulnerable employees from this pandemic.

At the minimum, lawmakers should require stores to:

1. Require that cashier stands all have plexiglass sneeze guards/ shields installed at all cashier stands.

2. Provide gloves or hand sanitizer to all high traffic employees that directly interact with the public.

This is not an unreasonable requirement to make for retailers and is absolutely necessary to protect the general public and essential employees from this pandemic.
