Traci Davis has been in her position as Superintendent for many years, and we believe it is time for her to be replaced. First, she is paid an absurd amount of money, last year was about $355,000. That is more than our current governor makes in a year. Yet she is in charge of the school district, unlike Governor Sisolak who is in charge of the entire state. Second, she keeps all Washoe County residence in the dark about what goes on in Washoe schools. Galena High Schools' principle was put on paid administrative leave, and earlier this month he resigned from his position as principal, however nobody know why. We reserve the right to know why one of our schools administrators is put on leave and then resigns. Third, as superintendent Ms. Davis has made many questionable decisions including what counts as a snow day and what counts as a two hour delay. Also the Digital Learning Days that were put in place this year were not given the go ahead by the Nevada Department of education yet Digital Days were still implemented. Another thing also being the new district wide attendance policy which was designed to help those students who need attendance improvement but in the long run has hurt more students than helped. These among other reasons are why Traci Davis must be removed from her position as Superintendent of the Washoe County School District.
