As you are aware, the Rio Nido Community Post Office will close its doors on June 30th, leaving the residents of Rio Nido no option to receive convenient mail delivery through the USPS. We will have to drive to the Guerneville Post Office to pick up mail, which is an undue burden for many of our residents, has limited hours, and is not open for window service on Saturdays.

To a community that has no street delivery of mail, we believe that this single option of closing our Post Office and relocating our PO Boxes with only 5 days notice is not only unreasonable, but will create unneccesary hardship for residents of Rio Nido.

Our Post Office has been in service for over 100 years, not only serving our residents with mail service, but also functions as a hub for communication for all of our residents. It is a central and vital part of our neighborhood.

We ask that the closure of our Post Office and the removal of our PO boxes be stopped, or at the very least be delayed, until we can find a solution that works for the entire community.
