For a list of the 30+ individuals and organizations who have endorsed the campaign for legal justice on behalf of Lee Yong-soo and Comfort Women, please see here.
In addition to this petition, we encourage you to sign and share a few others by our partners and friends:
- Petition with Coalition Against Trafficking in Women International (CATW) to the Government of Japan to take unequivocal responsibility (currently 48,000+ signatures),
- Petition by Comfort Women Justice Coalition (CWJC) for inscription of Comfort Women historical records in the UNESCO Memory of World Register, which the Japanese government derailed, and
- Petition by Gabriela Philippines for restoration of Jonas Roces' monument "Filipina Comfort Women," which the Japanese government pressured the Philippines government to remove.
This is a genuinely grassroots campaign and we thank you for your interest and support!
If you have ever organized or spoken up on behalf of Comfort Women and need some words of encouragement, please take a moment to read this speech by CWJC Co-Chair Lillian Sing at a 2018 panel with Prof. Tina (Ustinia) Dolgopol and Dr. Heisoo Shin, who were key participants in the Women's International War Crimes Tribunal for the Trial of Japan's Military Sexual Slavery, held in Tokyo during December 2000.
