Lee Yong-soo halmoni is pressing forward with her campaign with the South Korean government.  She has requested an interview with newly appointed National Human Rights Commission Chair Song Doo-hwan. 

During his confirmation hearing, Chairman Song wholeheartedly empathized with Lee Yong-soo halmoni's urgent request for the Commission to consider referral of the "comfort women" issue to the ICJ.  He also stated that the ICJ referral is an opportunity to squarely address the distortion of "comfort women" history.
