If this is accomplished it would make maine the 17th state to join the states that allow raccoons as pets. That would not only make me very happy; It would ensure that many other people now till many decades later can enjoy the pleasure of having an adorable raccoon as a pet. Joining the 16 states that allow this, would mean getting raccoons from breeders, not the wild. Raccoons taken out of their natural habitat is a terrible idea.
