Plastic cups, lids, straws, and drink stoppers are littering our California Beaches. They are not biodegradable and are dangerous to wildlife. Starbuck's provides too many plastic items that litter our environment, eventually ending up on our beautiful California beaches and in our ocean.  

We urge Starbuck's to replace their plastic straws with paper/composite straws. Composite straws are biodegradable and safer for our environment. With today's modern technology, Starbuck's can design a biodegradable composite straw that's sturdy enough to handle beverages of any thickness and temperature. Also, drink stoppers are all together unnecessary, and should be replaced by a wood product or returning to the standard lid flap design, hopefully a biodegradable composite also.
