All of us have been saddened by Blake Lucas’ decision to take his own life. We are aware of the video he posted online singling out Beth Quackenbush. Further, we are aware that a text is going around encouraging people who have been “hurt by Beth Quackenbush“ to attend the Aug 27 Board meeting or to write in with complaints about her. The text insinuates that Mrs Quackenbush is in someway responsible for Blake’s death, based on what it also implies to be her wide spread practice of treating students unfairly.
We, the undersigned, have never experienced anything but professional, supportive, and caring treatment from Mrs. Quackenbush. She doesn’t baby us and holds us to high musical standards. She expects our best behavior, and treats everyone equally... and along the way has provided more than a little good advice about life.
We fear this school board meeting could have a devastating effect on Mrs Q personally, on her family, and on whether or not she can continue to teach. As students who have benefited from her teaching and genuinely respect her we do not want to see this happen.  Please accept this petition as our vote of strong support for Mrs Quackenbush.
