P-tech stands for pathways to early college high school. This is a program where you learn hands-on experience. It is a 6-year commitment where you are bused from your home school in this case Jamestown high school to the P-Tech campus located in Dunkirk. Here you get hands-on experience in CAD, Welding, or Machine Tooling. By the end of the 6 years, you graduate with both your high school diploma and an associate’s degree in one of the majors listed above. 

Jamestown public schools are choosing to dis-enroll these 19 students from P-Tech. Jamestown is forcing us to graduate, even though we aren’t ready. We have gotten so much more than just college and high school education, we have gained knowledge, useful life skills, knowledge in the workplace. Which most people our age wouldn’t be able to experience. With P-Tech this is all possible. 

We have made many different connections as well as experiences that we would not have gained through typical schooling.
