Save Odin from wrongful prosecution

The Issue

We were hoping that the removal of James Butler as the Des Moines, Iowa City Chief Humane Officer and hopefully replacing him with someone with experience, compassion and a non prejudicial attitude towards dogs with fat heads or who you are as a dog owner would improve greatly, and we hoped illegal seizures by the ARL would stop and the ordinance would be followed on the choices an owner has where to have their pet held. In the case of Odin and others it appears business as usual there.
Come on Des Moines stop this.
Stop wasting tax dollars, stop locking up pets for weeks, months and years when they have their families and reputable Pet Orgs to go to within Iowa.
Odin did what any dog that felt their family was in danger or threatened would do, protect their family. Unfortunately because of a irresponsible parent a child may have been bit.
Hold the adult responsible, look at the removal of the child from this man if warranted and leave this cared for dog alone.

All Pet Owners! Again, we offer sound advice, keep your pets on your property, keep their rabies up to date, get your pets spayed and neutered and NEVER turn over your pet to the ARL Of Iowa or anyone without a warrant. They are not the police, they are not following the ordinance and instead threatening and bullying pet owners who don’t know their rights. Record and document all interaction with those who are handling your pets or trying to take them.

Share this information so this does not keep happening. Be an educated, wise, responsible pet owner so this does not keep happening.

Odin was inside his home when someone barged in unannounced according to the owner and Odin felt he and his family were being threatened.
