Let thesixtyone (T61) Live

TheSixtyOne is probably one of the most useful music exploration web sites in the world. TheSixtyOne gives musicians and listeners the ability to connect with each other directly. Musicians share their music, listeners listen, give feedback, tell their friends, and buy the music that moves them.

TheSixtyOne is nearing extinction. The owners continue to disable features and encourage users to stop using the site. Yet despite all the discouragement and disabled features, there are still hundreds of users who use TheSixtyOne every day to find music and communicate with the musicians.

TheSixtyOne is a site that has the power to connect musicians and listeners. TheSixtyOne is a site that eliminates the middle man record labels who tend to stand as a roadblock between musicians and listeners. TheSixtyOne allows musicians to sell (or even give for free) the products of their musical arts directly to listeners. Listeners can communicate directly with musicians which validates the musicians and their work.

Please save this amazing site. Restore it to its' former glory. You could allow someone else to take over it. At the very least, release the project to the open source community.
