Pennydale to be included in the Beaumaris Secondary College neighbourhood boundary
This petition had 265 supporters
The new Beaumaris Secondary College currently under construction is a significant win for residents of Bayside.
We need your help to ensure that the Pennydale community is included in the Neighbourhood Boundary for this new school. The current draft boundary excludes our area and we believe that this is an oversight that is not too late to rectify.
Pennydale and the Jack Rd precinct should be included in the neighbourhood boundary for the following reasons:
Continuity of Education - the vast majority of residents send their children to schools within the proposed zone. The opportunity for them to continue their education with their peer groups is critical.
Proximity - Beaumaris Secondary College will be the closest school for many residents and arguably the safest school for children to commute to. Sandringham Junior campus is further away and Cheltenham College removes the opportunity for children to walk or cycle to school due to the major arterial roads and extremely busy shopping precinct. The route to Beaumaris Secondary College is by far the safest for our children to walk or ride to, which supports the Victorian Government's own VicHealth initiatives.
Current shared zone reference - Our community has historically been referenced to the old Sandringham Campus at the site of the new school.
It is not too late for us to make a difference and be included in the neighbourhood boundary for this wonderful new school.
Please join us in singing this petition and making our community heard.
