Grant our dedicated school premises manager the right to stay and work in the UK

The Issue

We want our dedicated school premises manager to be given the right to stay and work in the UK.  We are the largest Church of England Primary School in the country, and have almost 900 pupils.

Yogi, our premises manager, has been in the UK for seven years.  He has worked for the school for nearly two years.  We tried to sponsor him to remain in the UK, but the recent and harsh tier changes have frustrated this.  He now faces the fear of being made to leave the UK.

Yogi is dedicated to our school.  Nothing is ever too much for him.  He is hugely respected parents, staff and pupils alike.  He is a talented man, and has a qualification in paediatric first aid.  After three years of temporary staff, Yogi was a breath of fresh air when he first arrived, and we would struggle to appoint another suitably-qualified or capable person.

Yogi seeks the right to continue to live and work in the UK.  He seeks the right to continue giving as much as he does to our community.

Yogi is happily married and has a child born in England.  He has worked for the last seven years in Britain.  He comes from India and speaks good English, Gujarati and other languages too.  He loves all things Victorian (not to mention Queen Victoria) and the UK.

Yogi has become an integral part of our community.  He is trusted and demonstrates unstinting commitment to our school.  He works incredibly hard, and he has never claimed any benefits.

This petition will show the high levels of support Yogi has in our community.

We urge the Home Office and the Minister for Immigration to respond to our petition.

Please grant Yogi the right to remain in the UK, and allow him the freedom to work, bring up his family, and continue to serve our school community.
