Many, many thanks to you all for signing the petition. At the Council meeting on Thursday it was agreed that "£200k should remain in the budget to keep existing Castlegate services in operation at the existing premises while alternative options are explored." We have travelled such a long way thanks to your help. When the petition was set up it looked like the Centre would close on March 31st.and services be fragmented or lost. Now there seems to be cross party agreement that a sustainable solution should be found. There are lots of ideas in the pipe line that can now be thoroughly explored and then worked up into a business plan. None of this would have happened without you. When anonymous comments from the petition were read out to councillors you could see they were visibly shocked at your passion and commitment.
