The stock of Greenland cod has been reduced in recent years, and bottom trawling of this benthic organism has detrimental effects beyond just reducing fish stocks as it also destroys the sea floor habitat for other organisms. If we can implement restrictions on the amount of fishing and methods of fishing, we can help preserve this exploited environment.
