We are a rural neighborhood located a few miles outside of Greenfield, Tennessee. Tyson foods is in the process of building dozens of chicken barns extremely close to our homes. We were supposed to have been visited or contacted by someone and asked how we felt about them moving in, and we were never contacted. Corporate 'farms' like tyson are destroying the agriculture industry and driving small family farmers out of business. We do NOT want tyson barns in our neighborhood. It will ruin the value of our properties and ruin our quiet little neighborhood. The smell alone is bad enough, but when you add in the round the clock traffic that comes with them it becomes a major problem. Most of our roads are rural one lane roads, and they've already started to ruin them with a constant flow of loaded dump trucks and semis every day. They're already pushing the county road committee to widen these roads, which means intruding onto private property, and for some people this means the road will end up being right in their front door. Tyson and their factory farms are not welcome here.
