The article below has appeared in The National today on Why the case of the #WestMidlands3 matters to Jagtar Singh Johal who is from Scotland and has been tortured in India and is fast approaching fours years in prison although the Indian authorities have been unable to produce any evidence in court to justify his detention.

It is a clear case of arbitrary detention, but the UK Government refuses to follow its own policy in such cases and act to secure his immediate release.
