I have always wanted a fennec fox and was planning on getting one until I did some research and found out that they are not legal in Washington state. When I found out that they're not legal I was crushed. I even considered moving to another state where they are legal, but then I found this and decided to start a petition. I have met other people that also want fennec foxes to be legal in Washington state. So if they become legal here it will make them happy too. The reason they are not legal in Washington state because the United States Department of Health does not want exotic animals (which includes the fennec foxes) to bring diseases here. But that can be solved if we give the fennec foxes treatments for the diseases before we allow them to be kept as pets. We can also require breeders to only sell fennec foxes that don't have diseases.
