Iraq War veteran and Ohio resident Darin Welker suffers from post-traumatic stress, depression, and back problems since returning from duty, the symptoms of which are alleviated by the mental and physical therapy he derives from caring for his fourteen pet ducks.

Unfortunately, the village in which he lives, West Lafayette, wants to take his ducks away or force him to pay a fine of up to $150, simply because ducks are not on the village's list of approved pets.
