Momentum is building! We will present this to members of Parliament on the steps of parliament in Wellington NZ, this coming Tuesday Dec. 3.  We now have over 1,700 signatures, let's see if we can reach 2,000 by Monday when we consolidate the signatories!! Please also support and/or join our caravans (hikoi) of students converging from all over New Zealand to rally in Wellington on Dec. 1-3!!  Below is a schedule of events that are occurring in cities across the nation, and pass this on to your friends family and networks:

Friday 29 November. The Convoy will travel up from Dunedin to Christchurch leaving at 4pm and arriving in Christchurch after 8pm. 

Sat 30 December. students drive up to Chch stay overnight and then onto Wellington the following day (and drive down from Auckland to Wellington the following day)

Sunday 1 December. The student organisers will take coffins to parliament to commemorate the lives lost during the Indonesian occupation of West Papua. In Mela cultures it is called a “housecrai” but basically, they will be mourning.

On Sunday there will also be a live interview with organisers on the community radio show called Educating for social change on Wellington Access Radio. The show goes airs live at 4pm Sunday.

Monday 2 December. The hikoi  participants will be joining Peace Movement Aotearoa flag raising and have asked more speakers to join in and say a few words etc. After this, they will walk these coffins to the Indonesian Embassy.

Tuesday 3 December. Students will be handing over a petition over on Parliament steps to Green MP Marama Davidson at around 1pm.
