November 2001 Daniel Cortes was convicted of a murder. The witness pointed out Daniel as the murder suspect after being interrogated by Chicago Police for more than 12 hours at 15 years old. He wanted to go home and was tired so he pointed out Daniel Cortes as the killer. During trial the witness wanted to change his story because he knew Daniel was innocent. After informing the states attorney of the lie, he threatened the witness with perjury if he changed his story because at the time the witness had his own murder case. A new witness, years later came forward signing an affidavit that she was at the scene of the crime and knows that Daniel Cortes is not the murderer. We need your help to exonerate Daniel Cortes, he has received over 50 years for murder. 25 for a gun that was never found , not in evidence and 25 for murder , this is a life sentence.
