The point of Love Island is to eventually vote for your favourite couple to win £50 000. However, this year, the fans’ favourite couples have changed so dramatically and so quickly that many viewers have started feeling less inclined to vote for a couple and rather a single person, particularly Ovie Soko. I believe that at least allowing for one person to win on their own would promote a positive message that just because you are single doesn’t mean that you should be worse off than someone in a couple. Considering the bad press that Love Island has been facing, this could bring at least a little bit of positivity back to the show.
