Zombie Week on Coronation Street

Zombie Week on Coronation Street
The Issue
No other show can compete with the rich history and characters of Coronation Street. Sadly so many of the characters that we have grown to love or hate have passed over the years. As any Corrie fan does, I have always dreamed of a way to reunite these former cast members with the current cast. What I have come up with is Coronation Street Zombie Week. A one-time event that would bring characters back from the dead to wreck havoc on the residents of Weatherfield. While it may seem like a silly idea, I feel that Coronation Street's unique blend of humour and drama would lend itself well to this insane concept, creating an event of pure entertainment for all of its diehard fans. The following is how I would imagine Zombie week might play out.
As night falls its closing time for the Kabin. As he does every night, Norris goes outside to gather the sign when he notices an old vagrant stumbling towards him. As the vagrant gets closer, Norris soon recognizes him as his half-brother Ramsay. Shocked by the revelation, Norris is unable to utter any words for the first time in his life. Ramsey lunges towards Norris violently biting him. Fade to black, roll opening credits.
Now in the Weatherfield Cemetery, it begins to storm. The camera slowly tracks across familiar gravestones. Hayley Cropper, Sunita Alahan, John Stape, Molly Dobbs, Schmeichel, Ashley Peacock, Liam Conner, Charlie Stubbs, Richard Hillman until stopping at Tony Gordon. The ground begins to break beneath his gravestone, a hand reaches out, the dead begin to rise. Instinctively the zombies begin to move towards the place that led to their deaths, Coronation Street.
Rather than be a completely stand-alone story, the previous week's storylines would continue with the zombies gradually invading the street and becoming the focus. The current cast of characters would all eventually have to confront the demons of their past such as Fizz seeing John Stape, Carla seeing Tony and Liam, Gail seeing Richard and Chesney seeing Schmeichel. As the zombie eventual take over and destroy Coronation Street. The surviving characters would eventually hold up in the Rovers. Eventually Tracy Barlow would not be able to hold off them off any longer and the zombies would burst into the Rovers. Steve Mcdonald, about to be bitten gives an epic death gurn. All hope is lost when the zombies head explodes out of nowhere. Still holding his death gurn, Steve sees his saviour, his father Jim Mcdonald holding the sawed-off shotgun he used to rob a bank. Jim has returned with former coronation street residents, Becky Granger, Graeme Proctor, Rosie Webster, Eddie Windass and Claire Peacock. With the surviving residents they fight off the zombies and take their street back.
The following week would again begin with Norris bringing in the sign and seeing a vagrant, but the vagrant would just pass him by. The storylines from the week before Zombie week would continue as if it never happened.
